• Acting for Two: In the French dub, both Scooby and Shaggy are once again voiced by Éric Missofe.
• All-Star Cast: The film's cast is headlined by Frank Welker, Will Forte, Zac Efron, Gina Rodriguez, and Amanda Seyfried, with Mark Wahlberg, Jason Isaacs, Ken Jeong, Tracy Morgan, Kiersey Clemons, Christina Hendricks, Simon Cowell, and Henry Winkler in supporting roles.
• Approval of God:
  • Frank Welker, who's been voicing Fred from the start in most Scooby media and Scooby from 2002 onward, considered Zac Efron the perfect candidate to voice Fred in this film.
  • Orlando Drummond and Mário Monjardim, the original Brazilian Portuguese voice actors of Scooby-Doo and Shaggy respectively, personally handpicked Guilherme Briggs and Fernando Mendonça to voice the characters in the movie.
• As Himself: Simon Cowell appears as himself, an entrepreneur looking to help Mystery Inc expand their mystery-solving business professionally.
• Children Voicing Children: The child versions of Mystery, Inc. (barring puppy Scooby) are voiced by children, with Iain Armitage as young Shaggy, Pierce Gagnon as young Fred, Mckenna Grace as young Daphne, and Arianna Greenblatt as young Velma.
• Content Leak:
  • Press release images showing off designs of Mystery Incorporated, which also listed their voice actors, along with a render of Muttley made the rounds on social media before the ad campaign had began.
  • An anonymous user on 4chan saw a test screening of the film and posted their impressions on the board on October 2019, which gave a rough play-by-play of the plot that turned out to be somewhat accurate.
• Cowboy BeBop at His Computer:
  • Many early articles announcing the voice cast claim Frank Welker has been voicing Scooby since the franchise's inception in 1969. He's been voicing Fred since then, and only started voicing Scooby in 2002 with What's New, Scooby-Doo?.
  • An important aversion is this movie may have finally turned the tide of people misnaming Dee Dee's last name as Sykes instead of Skyes, something which many websites (including Wikipedia and TV Tropes itself)
• Creator Backlash: Eric Drobile, who animated the scene where Shaggy and Scooby meet Simon Cowell and start singing "Shallow", has stated that he's consistently found the scene to be "terrible with no redeeming factors" since he worked on it, citing the cast's poor performances in particular. He's also heavily indicated that he resonates with the "collective hate" given towards SCOOB! overall.
• Delayed Release Tie-In: The movie had a Hardee's tie-in meant to be released around the time of its original theatrical premiere. However, the website was updated to reflect its digital debut.
• Descended Creator: Director Tony Cervone voices Mr. Rigby, the culprit in the prologue who poses as a ghost.
• Direct to Video: Not by choice but by circumstance; due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film was released on video on demand on the date of its intended theatrical release.
• Disowned Adaptation: Matthew Lillard and Grey Griffin expressed disappointment at feeling Darrin'd as the respective roles of Shaggy and Daphne and that they weren't told of this before it was announced online. However, they did wish the film the best of luck, upon release.
• Dueling Works:
  • Was set to duel with The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, which is also a CGI movie that is based on and is made to resemble the art style of a classic cartoon that tells the story of how the main character got their pet. Their original release dates were a week apart before both wound up getting delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. SCOOB! was ultimately released digitally on its original theatrical date; SpongeBob continued to aim for a theatrical release for a few more weeks, but was ultimately shifted to a VOD debut in early 2021.
  • Also is this to Trolls World Tour, which also skipped it's theatrical run and went VOD.
• Executive Meddling: According to Tony Cervone, it was the studio's decision to recast nearly every Hanna-Barbera character with a largely celebrity cast.
• Follow the Leader:
  • While this is the first installment to a Shared Universe of Hanna-Barbera films, this was inspired by the same idea for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, according to Tony Cervone. Especially on world-building and its love for the property.
  • As stated above, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this movie skipped theaters^note until May 2021 for a minor spell and headed straight to on-demand, like Trolls World Tour.
• Kids' Meal Toy:
  • Carls Jr's/Hardee's had a set of four toys in May 2020 in the US. There was the Scoob collar, water reveal, Mystery Machine with stickers, and the mystery wristband.
  • McDonald's also had a set of eight toys internationally
• Missing Trailer Scene: The part in the first trailer where young Scooby licks Shaggy, followed by Shaggy licking him back and being told by Scooby not to do it again, never happens in the film proper.
• The Other Darrin:
  • Nearly every Hanna-Barbera character in the film is voiced by Celebrity Voice Actors, with Scooby and Muttley as the only ones still voiced by their regular voice actors.
  • The same goes in the Japanese dub, with the sole exception of Scooby-Doo, as every character got his respective voice actor replaced from previous animated adaptations. Oddly enough, Dick Dastardly is voiced by Hōchū Ōtsuka, instead of Akio Ōtsuka from the dub of Wacky Races (2017).^note This is also a very hilarious Casting Gag, since he voiced Yazan Gable parodying Dick Dastardly in Mobile Suit SD Gundam.
  • In the Brazilian Portuguese dub, Guilherme Briggs voices Scooby-Doo and Fernando Mendonça voices Shaggy, replacing Reginaldo Primo and Mckeidy Lisita, who have been voicing the characters ever since Mystery Incorporated, respectively ^note  while Primo and Lisita went back to voicing the characters in any following Scooby-Doo media, Briggs would later permanently replace Primo as the voice of Scooby, starting with Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby-Doo! meets Courage the Cowardly Dog. Felipe Drummond ^note  The grandson of Scooby-Doo's original Brazilian VA Orlando Drummond also replaces Peterson Adriano as the voice of Fred for this movie only, as Peterson was banned from the dubbing studio Delart.
• Production Posse: The second film to feature both Mark Wahlberg and Amanda Seyfried after Ted 2.
• Promoted Fanboy: Every crew member involved have grown up on Scooby-Doo, Wacky Races, Dynomutt, Captain Caveman, or all the above with many Hanna-Barbera cartoons, growing up.
• Real-Life Relative: In the Brazilian Portuguese dub:
  • Sisters Fernanda Baronne and Flávia Saddy voice the adult Velma and Daphne, respectively.
  • Felipe Drummond and his younger brother Eduardo voice the adult Fred and his young version, respectively. Their middle brother, Alexandre Drummond, voiced the younger Scooby is voiced by Alexandre Drummond. All three are the grandsons of Scooby's classic voice actor, Orlando Drummond.
• Role Reprise:
  • Frank Welker reprises his role as Scooby-Doo. Billy West also reprises his role as Muttley from Wacky Races and the Wacky Races video game from 2000, with his signature laugh using archived audio of the late Don Messick.
  • The same goes in the Japanese dub, when Naomi Kusumi reprise his role as Scooby from previous animated productions.
  • All of Mystery Inc. retain their post-2000 voices (one way or another) in the Hungarian dub — Shaggy, Velma and Daphne kept their regular voices, Scooby kept his 2nd voice who had dubbed him in a handful of shows and every previous movie, and Fred kept his movie-only voice (who's also the recurring voice of Zac Efron). Sadly, this was the final time that Gábor Vass would voice Scooby.
  • In the French dub, all of Mystery Inc. retain their regular voice actors. As for Dick Dastardly, he's voiced by Jean-Philippe Puymartin (the usual voice of Tom Hanks and Tom Cruise), reprising his role from Wacky Races (2017).
• Those Two Actors: Young Shaggy and Daphne are played Iain Armitage and Mckenna Grace, who also star on Young Sheldon
• Tuckerization: The police officers are named Officer Casey, Jaffe, and North, after Casey Kasem (the original voice of Shaggy), Nicole Jaffe (the original voice of Velma), and Heather North (the second voice of Daphne), respectively. Judy Takamoto is named after Iwao Takamoto, the original designer of Scooby-Doo.
• Two Voices, One Character: Muttley is voiced by his current regular voice actor Billy West, while his laugh uses archive audio of the late Don Messick, his original voice actor.
