Trivia / San Francisco Rush

  • Prop Recycling: The Bruiser in 2049 is a repurposed background prop from a canceled Fighting Game, Tenth Degree.
  • Recursive Adaptation: The additional cars and tracks from the home versions of 2049 were incorporated into the Special Edition of the arcade version, as well as two of the BGM's from the Dreamcast version to go with the new tracks. The tracks also have new shortcuts added.
  • Refitted for Sequel: The Stallion in Rush 2 was meant to appear in the first game, and could be seen in pre-release footage with a livery similar to RRR Racing's Saleen Mustangs.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • A magazine preview for Rush 2 shows that the New York Downtown and Hawaii tracks were originally called "Lower Manhattan" and "Honolulu" respectively, that cars from Rush the Rock would retain their liveries from that game, and there would've been a second Stunt track.
    • L.A. Rush, according to the interview with game designer, was going to be more like Need for Speed: Underground, with barriers instead of checkpoints and planned to have manually-customize vehicles.
