Trivia / Sam Hunt

Go To

  • Breakthrough Hit: While most of his songs were already huge, "Body Like a Back Road" became the highest-charting country song on the Hot 100 since "Cruise".
  • Follow the Leader: Some other contemporary artists seem to be taking his "talk-singing over an electronic beat" style to heart, including Walker Hayes and Jordan Davis.
  • Follow-Up Failure: Once the phenomenally huge "Body Like a Back Road" died down, he finally released a new single over 15 months later. That single, "Downtown's Dead", fizzled out at #15 less than two months later.
  • He Also Did: Hunt has a few scattered outside writing credits, including an album cut by Reba McEntire, plus singles by Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, and Billy Currington. He also sang backing vocals on Carrie Underwood's single "Heartbeat". And he was a college football player to boot!
