This usually applies to the play as well, seeing as the character would be a minor in most of the modern world, and an appropriately-aged actress would be uncomfortable at best, illegal at worst.
- Follow the Leader / Trope Maker: The Bible just says that Salome danced for the king. You can thank this for popularizing the idea that Salome did the 'Dance of the Seven Veils', effectively performing a striptease.
- Harpo Does Something Funny: The stage directions for the Dance of the Seven Veils read, in their entirety, "Salome does the dance of the seven veils", allowing for performances ranging from fairly tame to pretty salacious.
