• Creator Backlash: The "Bling Bling is Jonghyun" rap from Shinee World and their nicknames for the whole group, and the Expelliarmus sketch for everyone, as witnessed here.
• Died During Production: Kim Jonghyun died on December 18, 2017. Prior to his death, he finished working on his second album, Poet | Artist, which was released posthumously.
• Fan Community Nick Names:
  • Their fanclub name is Shawol (a portmanteau of the words "Shinee" and "world").
  • There are also nicknames the fans made up for the fandoms of the individual members:
    • Onew fans are MVPs.
    • Jonghyun fans are Blingers.
    • Earlier Key's fandom name was known as Lockets , but later Key started calling his fans 'Lil Freaks', and the fans followed. He himself is referred to as 'Captain Freak'.
    • Minho fans are Flames.
    • Taemin fans are Taemints.
• What Could Have Been:
  • While promoting his second solo single, Suho of EXO revealed in an Esquire Korea interview that he was supposed to debut with the group at that time given that he trained with them. But he had a leg injury which delayed his debut along with preparing for his college entrance exam.
  • During their trainee days, they were called "SM 5" (the same nickname given to TVXQ during pre-debut)
  • In November 2017, Taemin did a Q&A on tumblr where he expressed that he would like to re-do the "Why So Serious MV", but with Jonghyun included (who wasn't in it because of his car accident at the time).
  • Onew was originally the one who was supposed to do the "SHINee's back" whisper, but he claimed his voice wasn't suitable enough or it.
