• Development Hell: Neverland Co., the original developer behind the Rune Factory franchise, went bankrupt right after Rune Factory 4 came out and after Rune Factory 5 was greenlit. The whole franchise was put in an uncertain state of limbo for years because of this, and fans feared that the series was done for. These fears were assuaged by the time Rune Factory 4: Special was released and Rune Factory 5 was confirmed to still be in development.
• Milestone Celebration: Especially notable as the series started off as being a game for Harvest Moon's 10th anniversary and then became popular enough to become its own series.
• What Could Have Been: The first Rune Factory contained unused sprites and character models in it, including one that looks like Brodik from Rune Factory Frontier and the guys from Kardia in wedding attire. They were possibly going to be love rivals for Mist (Zavier), Rosetta (Lukas), Melody (Camus), and Tori (Russell), or it may have been possible that a female protagonist option was in consideration.
  • Tabatha's younger sister, Minerva, was initially considered as another cameo character and potential bachelorette in the fourth game. The developers decided not to put her in to avoid making newer players feel like they had to play the previous games.
