- Creator's Favorite: Word of God says it's Hinaichigo for Sendo and Souseiseki for Ebara.
- Cross-Dressing Voices: Jun Sakurada, a young boy, is voiced by a woman (Asami Sanada).
- Franchise Killer: The 2013 anime adaption by Studio DEEN was a last-ditch effort to raise manga sales and overall interest in the series. However, the anime was a financial failure and Young Jump decided to cancel the manga, giving Peach-Pit only 3 chapters to finish it. The franchise would lay low for several years until Rozen Maiden 0 was announced.
- God-Created Canon Foreigner: Barasuishou, Enju, and Shirosaki do not appear in Peach-Pit's manga, but were created by them for the 2004 anime adaption.
- No Export for You:
- The original manga for English fans. It had been licensed by Tokyopop for several years, but their editions went out of print after Tokyopop closed down. Despite the success of the 2004 anime of which was somewhat based on it and the contextual need from the 2013 anime, it has not been licensed for English audiences for well over a decade.
- The 2008 Stealth Sequel manga as well. Despite the fact that the 2013 anime was a financial failure in Japan, it managed to be licensed for English audiences. However, the story only adapts partway through the manga leaving the conclusion that you can only read in the manga impossible to read officially.
- The Other Darrin:
- The first drama CD release had Sanae Kobayashi as Jun Sakurada, Yui Horie as Shinku, Mamiko Noto as Suigintou, Nana Mizuki as Suiseiseki, Tomoko Kaneda as Hinaichigo, Aya Hisakawa as Nori Sakurada and Ayako Kawasumi as Tomoe Kashiwaba. For their anime debut, Jun was voiced by Asami Sanada, Shinku by Miyuki Sawashiro, Suigintou by Rie Tanaka, Suiseiseki by Natsuko Kuwatani, Hinaichigo by Sakura Nogawa, Nori by Noriko Rikimaru and Tomoe by Masayo Kurata.
- Much like Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA☆ILLYA, Sentai Filmworks opted to use their in-house studio for Zurückspulen rather than outsourcing the dub to Bang Zoom! Entertainment. Thus, most of the voice actors from the original Rozen Maiden dub did not return. For example, Shinku, voiced in the TV series by Mela Lee, is voiced by Luci Christian for Zurückspulen.
- Due to the retirement of Yumi Shimura in 2016, Kanaria was voiced by Akari Kageyama (Nana Ebina in Himouto! Umaru-chan) in collaborations with mobile games Gothic wa Mahou Otome and SINoALICE.
- Overtook the Manga: Season one of Studio NOMAD's anime adaption was announced very early on in the manga's run and had to come up with a different plot than the arc was being developed at the same time in the manga. This happened again with season two where a combination of too little source material to work with and the enormous amount of changes that went into the plot of season one left Studio NOMAD with no clear outline to work with. Peach-Pit was brought in to write the basic plot of season two which ended up with another similar but incredibly different plot than the arc that was being developed in the manga.
- Promoted Fanboy: Otofu Material made many comics about the series and eventually went on to draw illustrations for several official lightnovelsnote .
- Studio Hop:
- The TV series was originally produced by Studio NOMAD. For the 2013 anime, Studio DEEN handled the animation.
- Shortly after Geneon Entertainment USA went out of business, Sentai Filmworks handled the North American home media rights.
- What Could Have Been:
- The original manga if it hadn't been Cut Short. While it's unknown what exactly would have happened, it's known that the plot would've been vastly different than the Stealth Sequel that ended up continuing the story.
- Peach-Pit have stated in an interview that originally there was going to be 12 dolls. They had to keep cutting that number down until they were left with the more manageable amount of 7.
