Trivia / ROM (IDW)

• Cancellation: Like its fellow non-Transformers titles, ROM was cancelled before First Strike due to lagging sales. It lasted the longest however at fourteen issues and three special issues.
• Screwed by the Lawyers: Like the Micronauts, legal issues with Marvel Comics have forced IDW to dump everything but Rom and the Wraiths- and even then, the Wraiths have undergone major redesigns (mainly because their original design was invented for the Marvel run; Parker Brothers never got around to making a Dire Wraith figure). Similarly, the series was originally teased/solicited as ROM: The Space Knight, but the series was renamed to just ROM.
• What Could Have Been: When Hasbro attempted their own crossover project called Unit: E in 2011, they teased Rom's inclusion by having a character inquire about the Solstar Order (another character replied that they were missing). The project never got off the ground, however.
