- Completely Different Title: In Brazil, the movie received the appropriate name of A Louca! Louca História de Robin Hood (The Crazy! Crazy Story of Robin Hood)
- Fake Brit: Amy Yasbeck, Mark Blankfield, Eric Allan Kramer, and Matthew Porretta. Dave Chappelle and Richard Lewis don't even bother with the accent, but that's the joke.
- He Also Did: Co-writer J. David Shapiro later did the screenplay for Battlefield Earth.
- Missing Trailer Scene: In the trailer, Robin shoots an arrow that flies around tree, brakes, swerves, and eventually completely misses target on a tree, splitting the tree in half. This doesn't happen in the film.
- Non-Singing Voice: None of the actors actually sang their own parts. All of the singing was done by professional singers. Debbie James and Arthur Rubin did the singing for Amy Yasbeck and Cary Elwes.
- Production Posse: Dick Van Patten and Dom De Luise return.
- Promoted Fanboy: Dave Chappelle was a big fan of Mel Brooks' previous films, particularly Blazing Saddles, and was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with him.
- Throw It In!:
- The part where Ahchoo pumps up his sneakers during a fight came about because Dave Chappelle happened to be wearing the shoes on set along with his costume. At first, Mel Brooks pointed out that they were somewhat anachronistic, but (Mel Brooks being Mel Brooks) decided to make a joke about it.
- While the stunt of the Sheriff falling through Latrine's roof and directly into her bed obviously took a great deal of planning and coordination, Roger Rees and Tracey Ullman improvised the business afterwards of Latrine trying to get the Sheriff to have sex with her.
- Vindicated by Cable: A lot like with Spaceballs, this movie found a bigger audience in home video.
- What Could Have Been:
- Hulk Hogan (yes, that Hulk Hogan) was offered the role of Little John.
- Sean Connery thought it would be funny if he reprised his King Richard role from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, but in drag. Mel Brooks found it funny too, but turned him down due to his salary.
