- It is incredibly well-known in the industry that former DC Comics editor Dan DiDio hates Dick Grayson and tried to have him killed off many times (Infinite Crisis, Forever Evil, Ric) but fan popularity always saved Dick's notoriously shapely ass every time.
- Likewise, Jim Starlin has hated the concept of Robin and tried to kill the then-Robin Jason Todd many times, even stuffing Jason's name in a ballot as DC were thinking of doing an educational story about the AIDS crisis. Ultimately he got his wish with A Death in the Family. note
- Dan DiDio also infamously despised Stephanie Brown going so far as to blacklist her from being used in anything including alternate continuity stories after her solo ended in 2011 with the advent of the New 52.
