• Channel Hop: While the original two American films were distributed by DreamWorks SKG, this here was distributed by Paramount as DreamWorks lost its distribution unit ten years prior.
• Irony as She Is Cast: Vincent D'Onofrio is nowadays primarily known for playing the arch-enemy of a blind Catholic. He plays a blind Catholic in this film.
• Missing Trailer Scene: The trailers show Galen outright explain the significance and meaning of Julia's marks to her and Holt. This was removed from the final film in order to shift the reveal of that message all the way to the final twist.
• Not Screened for Critics: When critics finally did see the film, it was widely panned, receiving only 5% on Rotten Tomatoes and 24 on Metacritic.
