- What Could Have Been:
- The final 3 for this season had at least three earlier versions that were considered before ultimately going with the one that we got (which was rumored to be a result of Executive Meddling ordering for there to be an equal number of males and females in the finale). The known planned versions currently include:
- Ice Dancers, Best Friends (Carrie & Devin), and Sisters (Emma & Kitty).
- Ice Dancers, Sisters, and Police Cadets (Sanders & MacArthur).
- Ice Dancers, Best Friends, and Police Cadets.
- Chris McLean's was originally written to have a major appearance in the episode other than his cameo. In one of the finale's first drafts, Chris was going to show up
and offer some hosting tips to Don, but Don would have failed to recognize him and order his security to have Chris removed from the set. The interaction had to be cut due to concerns about runtime and ruining the tension.
