Trivia / Rex the Runt

Go To

  • Early-Bird Cameo: Rex, or at least a version of him, appeared as a non-speaking dog in an earlier, more experimental Aardman film called Ident.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The first two pilots, 1991's How Dinosaurs Became Extinct and Dreams have never been released in full on home media, although they are available online.
  • Missing Episode: While the first two pilots are relatively easy to find online, the third, 1996's North By North Pole, has yet to be found. This is likely due to it being adapted into the third episode of the TV series, "The Adventures On The Telly, Part II" later unlike the two earlier pilots. A screenshot of the title card exists, although nothing else of the episode does.
    • Although it's possible that at least part of the footage for North By North Pole may have ended up in "The Adventures On The Telly, Part II" due to the visibly lower animation quality for portions of that episode.
  • The Other Darrin: Rex and Bad Bob were both recast between the first and second series. Rex went from Andrew Franks to Colin Rote while Bad Bob went from Kevin Wrench to Andy Jeffers. Franks and Wrench were also writers for the first series but did not return for the second.
