• Executive Meddling: According to Thompson, she had wanted to use the Brood in the pages of Captain Marvel since the early days of her run. However, she was blocked from using them due to Jonathan Hickman claiming the Brood for X-Men (2019). With Hickman's departure following Inferno and the re-working of his intended plot threads, the Hives finally became available again.
