Trivia / Rescue Heroes

  • Adored by the Network: The show was adored by Qubo, and aired on there from 2009 all the way to its closure in 2021.
  • Banned Episode: "Terror in the Tower" was banned from Kids' WB! after 9/11 for about a year, and when it returned, the episode was retitled "High Anxiety." Since then, all subsequent broadcasts and releases of the episode use the revised title.
  • Channel Hop: Aired for one season on CBS before it was unceremoniously canceled. Kids' WB! picked the series up a year later, complete with a significant facelift.
  • International Coproduction: Between Nelvana and Hong Gaung in Season 1.
  • Missing Episode: "Lava Alarm", the original pilot, was never aired and had different animation and voice acting. Besides those details, it's a standard episode.
  • Network to the Rescue: The show was originally a one-season wonder on CBS, but reruns on Teletoon in Canada were so successful that Teletoon commissioned additional seasons that would retool the series into a Two Shorts show featuring Darker and Edgier situations.
  • Retool: The Kids' WB! run saw the show enter its Global Response Team era, and the differences between it and the first season are pretty substantial: it was Darker and Edgier than beforehand, the heroes and citizens were put in even deadlier situations (a teenage girl in one episode was bit by a rattlesnake), the characters were redrawn to look less cartoony (helped by the fact that animation moved from China to Korea) and humorous moments were more sparse, owing to the increased tension of the episodes. It helped that Kids' WB! had less stringent standards and practices than CBS had.
  • Screwed by the Network:
    • Its initial run on CBS was rarely advertised on the Saturday Morning block and aired at 11:00 AM, right after The Saturday Early Show, leaving many child viewers confused over when the show was going to air. CBS had been mistreating their kids shows since at least 1997. The Weird Al Show got screwed over too, as did Rescue Heroes and their Nelvana-produced compatriots after that.note
    • In an unfortunate overlap of Distanced from Current Events, the series' second run on Kids' WB! was screwed over when the show was rescheduled to Wednesdays at 3:00 PM in order to make up for all the postponements caused by the September 11th attacks. It remained on this time slot for a year before it was cancelled again.
    • It was airing on Cartoon Network for a brief period in 2004, and they only aired the show on weekday mornings, and during the fall of 2004, it was only airing on weekdays at 10:30 A.M., which was when the demographic was at school, and after a brief period, it got pulled from the schedule.
  • Un-Cancelled: The show originally ran for only a single season on CBS, being unceremoniously canceled when CBS opted not to renew their programming deal with Nelvana. However, it ended up being revived a bit later by Teletoon due to the high ratings of reruns on the Canadian channel, which then later came to US television on Kids' WB!.
