  • In Memoriam: The first event that shows up in-game is a tribute to the mod's creator Kaisvr1871 who tragically passed away in October 2019 in a car accident.
  • Troubled Production: The long-awaited and currently in-development Red Dawn, Red Dusk update was the final update that was worked on while the mod's creator was alive. Development of the update was set back not only because of said creator's death as listed above, but also because the laptop carrying the dev build for the mod was stolen not long after. As of 2024, the update is slated for release after the Cola Wars update which itself is currently in-development.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Canada and Germany originally could've been balkanized into its provinces and states, respectively, but was scrapped to make space for other countries due to the then-tag limit of 200 countries. Although the limit has since been increased, all that remains of the balkanization of the two countries are the existence of a Quebec tag for Canada, and tags for a South German nation, and Austria for Germany.
    • Germany was planned very early in development to get a Fascist route, it never really got off the conceptual stage and was quickly scrapped as the lore evolved.
    • South Africa originally had its focus tree outsourced to another individual, and although the skeleton of the focus tree was completed, it was never endorsed by Kaisvr1871 in the end. The skeleton of the tree includes a path in the Fascist route in which South Africa could've taken over the world.
    • The lore behind the Union of the Heartlands (back when it was the Midwest Union) initially referred the country as an anarchic wasteland, or as the former wiki called it "de facto lawless bandito land", outside of Denver, but sometime before Kaisvr1871's death the lore was reworked into having the Midwest Union be a highly decentralized agrarian state with a growing opposition against the ruling agrarian party. The name change to Union of the Heartlands, however, came in 2023.
    • When the Fan-Fork was originally founded, there was a debate among the development team over whether to faithfully follow the vision and lore set up by the mod's creator, to mostly retain lore that has been set up while making some changes, or to create an entirely different lore. In the end, it was decided that the team would faithfully follow the vision and lore set up by the mod's creator.
    • The UAPR was planned to get a National Bolshevik route that would involve excessive patriotic, but socially egalitarian Communists. This was scrapped after parts of the Sanders storyline made said route redundant.
