  • Chief Operations Specialist Sally Blackhawk is supposed to be of Shoshoni Indian descent.
  • From chapter three:
    • Offscreen during Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Miles O'Brien upgraded the warp drives of the runabouts so they were capable of warp 9+, where they were canonically only capable of warp 5 according to "Dax". This welds shut a minor Plot Hole from episodes where Jem'Hadar attack ships pursued runabouts at high warp (the DS9 Technical Manual puts a JHAS' top speed at warp 9.6).
    • Miles O'Brien is now the Master Chief Petty Officer of Starfleet (the Recycled In Space version of the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy).
  • Chapter four has a note that he's using the (honestly pretty common) interpretation that Starfleet MACOs are the space equivalent of Navy SEALs.
