  • The Danza: All of the girls have the same first and last names as their respective actresses. They even have some similar personality traits. It's not a stretch to say they're almost playing fictionalised versions of themselves.
  • Friendship on the Set: Miyakawa Ichirota (Mr. Hayashi) became a fan of Hiragana Keyakizaka46 after working together with them on this series and appeared on their later shows, such as documentaries and the Sakamichi drama Borderless, and also provided narration for one of their concerts.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Hiragana Keyakizaka46 (now Hinatazaka46) have become known for their comedy skills and cheerful "Happy Aura" concept, which nobody could have guessed from this series produced in their early days when they were still a subgroup of Keyakizaka46 (now Sakurazaka46), which were indeed one of the few Darker and Edgier major idol groups.
  • International Coproduction: The show was co-produced by TV Tokyo and Netflix, and naturally distributed internationally by the latter.
  • Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": This series became the first exposure of many international audience to Hiragana Keyakizaka46, a Japanese pop music group, following the popularity of later East Asian survival series like Squid Game and Alice in Borderland (although the group's music mostly isn't region locked, they're generally not promoted internationally).
  • Self-Remake: The series is a remake of a miniseries written by Hiragana Keyakizaka46 producer Akimoto Yasushi back in 2011 for the defunct mobile phone brand Sony Ericsson, titled RE;Mind. The original also had a mostly Japanese production crew, but is in English with a multinational and mixed-gender adult cast, and the Big Bad is a terrorist organization leader.
  • Similarly Named Works: In 2022, Netflix produced another Japanese high-school mystery film titled Re/Member.
  • What Could Have Been: Miho's role originally belonged to Nagahama Neru, a former member of Hiragana Keyakizaka46 who left the group before the drama started. They did an audition among Hiragana's 2nd gen to find a member who could replace Neru's role, and Miho was chosen. In an interview, the cast revealed that Miho and Kumi's unseen best friend is actually Neru.
  • Word of Saint Paul: Some of the loose ends are explained by the actresses in their blogs. For example, Saito Kyoko confirmed that the room is on a ship and claims that everybody survives and graduates the next day (i.e. the beach ending scene is not a Dream Sequence).
