• Science Marches On: Well these days science has proved that human hair can't grow after a certain length - certainly not long enough to span an entire tower. So most adaptations will give some magical reason for the hair's length. The exception is Barbie As Rapunzel - where her hair is only floor-length (which is possible in real life, depending on one's genetics). Oddly enough, MythBusters showed that hair is stronger than a lot of people tend to assume, so if hair could grow to such lengths, climbing it would be entirely possible (so long as there was something to take the pressure of the weight off the hair's owner). By the time Tangled came along, they made the hair a result of magic to justify it.
