• Acting for Two: Phillipa Alexander voices Pepper Mintz, Floof, and Kalia, Aileen Mythen voices Mandarin Orange and Rosie Redd, Penelope Rawlins voices Indigo Allfruit and Lavender LaViolette, and Zehra Jane Naqvi voices Bonnie Blueberry and Patty Praxton, leading to many cases of actors voicing several different conversations with each other.
• Adored by the Network: Initially, the show was given multiple merchandise tie-ins and was in talks for a second season and a spin-off, before it even aired.
• Dueling Shows: With Butterbean's Cafe, an in-house Nick Jr. show that premiered around the same time. Nick promoted Butterbean heavily, leaving Rainbow Rangers in the dust.
• Invisible Advertising: Little to no advertising was done for the show on TV or online.
• Missing Episode: "Divided We Fall/White Nosed-Bats," episode 8 of season 1, was made but never aired in America. It was later made available on Netflix.
• Out of Order: Going by production order, the majority of the first nine episodes aired out-of-order, with episode 11 airing sixth and throwing off every episode after 10.
• Schedule Slip: The show was originally planned for 2017, but was delayed until 2018. The special intended to kick off the series never aired, and two months passed between episodes 9 and 10 and 17 and 18 airing.
• Screwed by the Network: This show was intended to air on the main Nickelodeon channel, but was shoved to the Nick Jr. channel. It also received zero advertising, due to Nick Jr choosing to devote most of their promotion towards the in-house Butterbean's Cafe, which aired on the main Nick channel. As a result, this show flew under the radar and has much less presence than other Nick Jr. shows, and two months passed between several episodes' airings.
  • Averted in the fall of 2019, when the show got two morning timeslots and an afternoon timeslot on the Nick Jr. channel to promote the merchandise that was released then. Then it was played straight in Winter 2019-2020, where the show was moved to 4:10 and 4:35 AM on weekends and weekdays, with only new episodes getting reasonable timeslots.
• What Could Have Been:
  • These early promo images show the Rangers looking very stylized, while this image of their finalized designs is in 2D◊. Pepper Mintz got an overhaul as well, and the Rangers' mission outfits were originally customized for each of them before becoming the same outfit with only colors differentiating them.
  • In early licensing decks Floof's species was a Braidicorn.
  • Rosie originally had an x-ray ring instead of a visor, and Lavender's power was originally to talk to plants and flowers.
  • Kalia originally had darker skin and much longer hair, and the villain was her evil younger sister Acrimonia, whose design wasn't finalized by the time she was removed from the series.
