Trivia / Railroad Tycoon

• Dummied Out: The first Railroad Tycoon game has graphics for the GP40, which can be seen rolling through the intro sequence. It's also mentioned in the manual, complete with stats, but it does not actually appear in-game. The original game can only handle 32 locomotives due to technological limitations, and the Gresley A1 is available in two different versions for the England and Europe maps, leaving no free slot for the GP40 over in the USA maps.
• Follow the Leader: The original Railroad Tycoon, and to a lesser extent its successors, are the series that originally popularized or made mainstream the "business sim" genre of Simulation Games. In particular, everything else that has "Tycoon" in its name was at least tangentially inspired by this one.
