- Creator's Oddball:
- This film is produced under Lars von Trier's production company Zentropa, and maybe the only animated feature in the company's filmography. It came from GRRR division where it specializes children's entertainment. This comes as ironic considering Von Trier expressed his dislike for "cartoons" in the documentary The Five Obstructions.
- Director Anders Morgenthaler was known for being newspaper cartoonist and co-host of the tv show based on his comic strips Wulffmorgenthaler with Mikael Wulff before directing this film.
- Inspiration for the Work: Anders Morgenthaler made an animated short about Japanese photographer Araki: The Killing of a Japanese Photographer, and wondered how the subject's friends and relatives would feel seeing the subject's objectification the Araki's photos.
- No Budget: The overall budget is around 1.2 million euro - a fraction of usual Danish animated feature. To conserve much funding as possible (and taking some inspirations from filmmaking approach of Dogme '95 movement - see live-action flashback scenes filmed in camcorders - and Japanese animations), director Anders Morgenthaler assembled a team of 5 to 6 animators and used only 6 frames per second with After Effect.
