• Acting for Two: Sasami and Tsunami are voiced in Japanese by Chisa Yokoyama, and in English by Sherry Lynn.
• Cross-Dressing Voices: Ryo-Ohki, who's a male in this version, is still voiced by Etsuko Kozakura and Debi Derryberry in the Japanese and English versions, respectively.
• The Danza: Some of the Alternate Universe versions of the Tenchi Muyo!'s characters share their "new" last names with their respective Japanese voice actors.
  • Washu takes "Kobayashi" after Yuko Kobayashi.
  • Mihoshi takes "Mizutani" after Yuko Mizutani.
  • Kiyone takes "Yuri" (also "Amayuri") after Yuri Amano.
  • Ayeka takes "Takada" after Yumi Takada.
  • Ryoko takes "Orikasa" after Ai Orikasa.
• Franchise Ownership Acquisition: When NBCUniversal bought out Pioneer LDC from Dentsu in 2008, they acquired the rights to the OVA and TV series as well.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: With Geneon closing down its North American division in 2007, the OVA and TV series are completely out of print there, and both VHS and DVD copies are considerably expensive to find.
• No Dub for You: While the OVA was dubbed, the TV series, while released in America, only had the subtitled version.
• The Other Darrin:
  • OVA 1's English dub was recorded alongside Tenchi Universe, and featured the voice cast working on the franchise at the time, including Ellen Gerstell as Mihoshi and Sherry Lynn as Kiyone. By the time OVAs 2-3 were recorded years later, Rebecca Forstadt had taken over as Mihoshi and Wendee Lee had taken over as Kiyone (while Lynn continued voicing Sasami and Pretty Sammy herself). In addition, Lara Cody replaced Lynn as Tsunami, Forstadt replaced Gerstell as Sasami's mother, Debi Derryberry replaced Sue Turner-Cray as Misao (and her alter ego, Pixy Misa), Doug Stone replaced Jack Kandel as Misao's father, and Lee and Cody replaced Gerstell and Kate T. Vogt as Yuka and Yuma (Ayeka's henchwomen) respectively.
  • In the OVA's Italian dub, Monica Vulcano replaced Domitilla D'Amico as Sasami and Raffaella Castelli replaced Cinzia Villari as Tsunami.
• Role Reprise: All of the voice actors from the TV series reprised their roles for the Sega Saturn video game adaptation.
• You Sound Familiar: In the Italian dub, Domitilla D'Amico (Remia) previously voiced Sasami in the first two Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki OVAs.
