Trivia / Pontoffel Pock, Where Are You?

Go To

  • Acting for Two:
    • Wayne Morton voices the titular Pontoffel Pock as well as the factory workers.
    • Besides writing the special's music, Joe Raposo voices Gil Gickler, a Groogen musician, the senior Fairy, and a Groogen dairywoman.
    • Hal Smith voices McGillicuddy, the Good Fairy-in-Chief and a Groogen Cop.
  • Channel Hop:
    • The cartoon premiered on ABC, but at some point afterwards, the rights to re-air it went to Turner-owned channels, such as TNT, TBS, and Cartoon Network.
    • Like the other DFE Dr. Seuss specials, home video rights have shifted from CBS/Fox Video, to Universal Home Entertainment, to Warner Home Video. Surprisingly, the first time Warner released Pontoffel Pock on DVD (as an extra feature on the 2012 Deluxe Edition of The Lorax (1972)), it still had Universal's logo at the beginning.
  • Creator Backlash: After Pontoffel Pock premiered on ABC, Dr. Seuss admitted his disappointment with how the special turned out, saying "I knew it wasn't a good title".
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: The Groogen dairywoman was played by the male Joe Raposo.
  • Unspecified Role Credit: The special's ending credits list only the voice actors and not the roles they played.
