  • Demand Overload: The original arcade machine malfunctioned within days, due to an overflowing coin box.

    • There were dozens of mini-"consoles" made which featured variations of the game (i.e. Tournament 1000 by Unisonic, APF TV Fun, the Wonder Wizard, the Radio Shack TV Scoreboard, Sears Super Pong Tele-Game, Colorsport VIII, the Ricochet, TV-4 4-Way Video Game, Volley VI, Coleco Telestar/Telestar Arcade, etc.) Even Nintendo's very first game device, Color TV Game 6, was a Pong clone. Even the Fairchild Channel F and RCA Studio II, the first game systems to use cartridges, had a Pong game made for them.
    • There was even a non-electronic version. TV Tennis had a motorized arm with a light on the end of it would bounce back and forth under a "screen". Knobs controlled paddles that would deflect it.
    • Pong itself can also be considered this. While Pong was the first successful commercial video game, it was not new - the Odyssey beat it out by a few months, and there's proof that Nolan Bushnell saw and perhaps played the Odyssey before Pong was made.
