  • Colbert Bump: Sylveon has only been patched ONCE, and that is to nerf both Mystical Fire and Hyper Voice. While both skills are still relatively strong, the meta has almost always favored Sp. Attack-based Attackers with burst DPS moves with only Venusaur being the notable outlier thanks to the tankiness of his Petal Drain moveset, with Giga Drain still being a burst move in application. Sylveon COULD have been a sad case of Power Creep if he wasn't lately used by TTVOtterVGC of Full Send team at the North America Aeos Cup Finals, which helps quickly whittle their opponents' HP when partnered with a Spin+Spout Blastoise as Hyper Voice also lowers his opponents' Special Defense. Following the tournament results, there has notably been more Sylveon users in ranked mode, with some matches surprisingly even allowing Sylveon to farm at the Central area especially when Sylveon is just as comfortable at Top or Bottom Lane since he has a lower level learning requirement as compared to many other attackers (Sylveon, Espeon, and Glaceon are the only Attackers who learn their Unite at Lv 8, whereas other Attackers learns theirs' at Lv 9)
  • Dummied Out: A prominent dataminer has announced that there is a certain file/part of the file that dictates a Pokemon's gender. Upon further reading, it is confirmed that the only female Pokemon are the Blissey line and the Tsareena line. Everyone else, including the Gardevoir line, the Ninetales line, the Wigglytuff line, and the Sylveon line are confirmed male. Officially, however, all Pokémon in the game are referred to with gender-neutral pronouns (and barring the ones with Secondary Sexual Characteristics it's impossible to tell just by looking at them).
    • Later datamines confirmed that the dev teams later changed the models of Gardevoir and Wigglytuff so they are now female as well, even if there's no notable Tertiary Sexual Characteristics. The other feminine-looking Pokemon, including Sylveon, are still male however.
    • Better yet, a bunch of updates later, additional Pokemon were labelled as female. This includes the like of... Dodrio, Chandelure, and Mimikyu.
  • No Dub for You: Although small, to the eagle-eared, the opening cinematic uses Japanese voices for all the Pokémon (with the exception of the announcer being dubbed in English). In-game, other than Pikachu, every other Pokémon uses their normal game noises.
  • Promoted Fanboy:
    • The first One Year Anniversary Trailer was presented by SuperTeeds, a UNITE YouTuber.
    • UNITE YouTuber spragels, who made guides and informational videos on UNITE, was soon brought on and began appearing in videos related to the E-Sports side of UNITE on the official channel.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The original presentation of the game in June 2020 showed Clefable as one of the playable Pokémon. It was unknown if it would be added in a later date or if it was replaced by Wigglytuff until a year after launch, when it was announced that Clefable would be added in October.
    • In the game's files, there exists an unused track for a Final Stretch theme for Auroma Park (which has no explict final stretch), likely implying that Auroma Park used to have a larger Final Stretch event.
