  • This episode aired before "Misty Meets Her Match" in the US. Ash has three badges in this episode, but the US viewers didn't see him win the third one until that episode aired.
  • Within the episode itself, during Charizard's flashbacks, his flashback of "Snow Way Out!" is in its proper continuity space, even though most American and Japanese listings list it in its airing order.^note That episode was originally meant to air much earlier, noted by Ash's un-evolved Charmander and Misty's lack of Togepi, but it was delayed due to the Pokémon Shock incident.
