Trivia / Pocket Card Jockey

Go To

  • Denial of Digital Distribution: The 2014 mobile release of Pocket Card Jockey was not only limited to Japan, but delisted just over a year later. Director Masao Taya later revealed that both things were because Game Freak had no idea how to monetize the game: they didn't think the game could sell at a flat fee on smartphones, but also had no idea how to incorporate free-to-play elements in a satisfying and profitable way, with the delisting being a result of that version falling to make much money.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Due to the Nintendo 3DS eShop shutting down in March 2023, it is no longer possible to purchase the 3DS version of Pocket Card Jockey, though it can be redownloaded if the player had previously bought the game.
  • Late Export for You: The Japanese 3DS version of the game released on July 31, 2013. It would not see an international release until May 5, 2016, almost three years later.
