• What Could Have Been:
  • The Wachowskis attempted to get a film version of the comic book made with Jim Carrey starring as Plastic Man. Issues with the budget ended up causing the project to get shelved. Keanu Reeves was also considered for the title role.
  • He almost got his own TV Series, which was turned into shorts in 2012 for DC Nation.
  • Veteran Voice Actor Billy Bletcher was set to voice the villain The Weed in the 1979 cartoon series, but was unable to due to health problems and his eventual death that year. The Weed was thus voiced by John Stephenson.
