  • Chart Displacement: The band's three top 10 singles in the UK are "Pure Morning", "Nancy Boy"... and the far more obscure "You Don't Care About Us" (while the far better known "Every You Every Me" narrowly missed at #11). Across the pond, the only one to hit the Billboard charts aside from "Pure Morning" is "Infra-Red".
  • Creator Backlash: "Pure Morning" wasn't played live from 2007 to 2016, because in Brian's words:
  • Creator Breakdown: The entirety of the album Meds is a sickening, depressing, and honestly brutal description of alcoholism and other drug addictions. There's a few good words to take home for the anguished addict in their first sober album, Battle for the Sun.
  • The Other Darrin: Or in this case The Other Steve. Steve Hewitt, who was the band's drummer for years, finally departed after Meds and was replaced by Steve Forrest.
  • The Pete Best: Robert Schultzberg, the original drummer before Steve Hewitt replaced him, left the band after the promotion for the self-titled debut due to too many disagreements with Brian. Then again, Robert only entered the band because Steve had to refuse Brian's invitation when forming Placebo.
  • Throw It In!: They basically threw in their Signature Song. Without You I'm Nothing was nearly completed, and after long sessions of being "actually quite anal about the recording" (Brian's words), they were messing around with a guitar loop and decided to make a song around it. Brian made up some lyrics on the spot, and before they knew it, they had "Pure Morning," the album's first single and possibly their most famous song.
