- Amateur Cast: In the English dub, outside of Pauly Shore (despite the number of viewers who discovered and viewed the film specifically due to his infamously-amateurish performance), Jon Heder, and Tom Kenny, all the other voice actors are complete unknowns based out of Russia. And the former three are only present in Lionsgate's partial redub for the US release.
- Dueling Dubs: Two English dubs of the movie exist: one dubbed in Russia (which is used for releases outside of the US), and a partial redub in the US courtesy of Lionsgate and Bang Zoom! Entertainment with Pauly Shore as the main character. As Lionsgate's US dub is a partial redub, most characters retain the same voices as in the international dub except for Pinocchio (voiced by Pauly Shore), Jepetto (voiced by Tom Kenny) and Tybalt (voiced by Jon Heder).
- Dueling Works: Notably the first of three different Pinocchio adaptations to come out in 2022, the other two being the more high-profile Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio and Disney's remake of their Pinocchio.
- Of these films, only Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio received positive reviews, while the Disney remake received largely negative reviews (and won the Golden Raspberry Award for "Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off or Sequel"), and while Pinocchio: A True Story is universally hated, it at least has a lot of memes going for it.
- Meme Acknowledgement: Lionsgate's official TikTok didn't waste any time capitalizing on the memetic lines and "yassification" spawned from their English dub in a compilation.
