• The Cast Showoff: Of course, everyone was already familiar with Ashley Tisdale's singing from the High School Musical films, but this is the first episode in which she gets to show it. It's also the first singing showcase for Vincent Martella, who plays Phineas.
• Executive Meddling: Not in this episode, but the song "Gitchee Gitchee Goo" caused executives to put out a requirement that each episode after this was to have a song. This is widely considered to be a positive example of this trope.
• Technology Marches On: The record executive carries a VHS tape, this despite the fact that DVDs had overtaken VHS as the prominent video format. This was lampshaded by Doofenshmirtz in the character commentary.
