Described by Ozzy as, "A bloke dressed as a pig with a sword in his hand" (the heavy motion blur is due to the fact that he was jumping from behind a tree when the picture was taken). According to Geezer Butler, "The cover was bad enough when the album was going to be ''War Pigs,'' but when it was ''Paranoid'' it didn't even make sense."
- Executive Meddling: The album was originally supposed to be called War Pigs (which explains the cover photos), but the band were forced to change it out of fear of a backlash from supporters of the ongoing Vietnam War.

- "Iron Man" has been used in Futurama during the episode "Anthology of Interest I" when Bender wondered what would happen if he was 500 feet tall — making him a literal iron mannote .
