• Distanced from Current Events: September 11th: Rather literal given Adventures of Superman #596 was released the day after 9/11. The issue is question featured Lexcorp's headquarters, which became twin towers after Brainiac 13 transformed Metropolis, sporting damage roughly around the same areas where the planes crashed into the WTC and its cover also featured the tagline "This is NOT a job for Superman" with a version of the iconic shirt open where Superman is sporting a darker costume with a red and black "S", which was part of Clark's mourning the people who died. Naturally, one: this was made months before being published and two: more importantly, DC decided not to penalize any store who wanted to return the issue for understandable reasons.
