  • Acting for Two:
    • In the Japanese version:
      • Fortinbras and Nobunaga Oda are voiced by Akio Ōtsuka.
      • Nui and Hecuba are voiced by Kaho Kouda.
    • In the English version:
      • Denis Akiyama voices Nobunaga Oda and the narrator.
      • Tony Daniels voices both Fortinbras and Osric.
      • Hecuba and Nui are played by Mung Ling Tsui.
      • Robert Lee voices Soldier C and Tokichiro Kinoshita.
      • Joel Rinzler voices the gatekeeper and Soldiers A and D.
      • Michael Stark voices Guildenstern and Solder B.
  • Ascended Glitch: One of the more famous examples due to being the direct cause of the creation of Devil May Cry. There was a juggling bug that got caught in development. Deemed inappropriate for Onimusha, but the devs thought the bug was cool so they decided to use the bug for potential ideas. That idea became Devil May Cry.
  • No Export for You:
    • The Nintendo Switch version is digital-only in the west, with its physical release being exclusive to Japan.
    • In Europe, the remaster did not receive a physical release at all, being digital-only on all platforms.
  • No Port For You: The Xbox port, Genma Onimusha, which contains a plethora of exclusive content, remains exclusive to said console, as the remaster did not include its additional features.
  • The Other Darrin: For the HD Remake, aside from Takeshi Kaneshiro returning as Samanosuke, everyone in the Japanese cast has been replaced. Some of them were justified: Guildenstern's old VA has passed away for quite some time.
  • Posthumous Credit: Denis Akiyama, the English voice of Nobunaga Oda and the narrator, died of cancer on June 28, 2018, less than seven months before the remaster's release. He is still given a credit since the game featured the original English dialogue.
  • What Could Have Been: Originally began development on the Nintendo 64 but was then moved to the PlayStation due to cartridge restrictions (this version even had a trailer released for it). Eventually, Capcom settled on the PlayStation 2.
