Trivia / One Piece – Logue Town Arc

• Milestone Celebration: The Straw Hat Pirates set sail for the Grand Line in the 100th chapter.
• Novelization: Shueisha released a Light Novel adaptation of this arc in 2000, likely for the convenience of newcomers to the series (since the plot is so sparse, most of the chapters consist of exposition on the Straw Hats' backstories). This novel is also where Daddy the Father originated, hence Epileptic Trees over whether he's "technically" a canon character, since the novel credits Oda as a co-creator.
• What Could Have Been: Oda actually did want to include some more stories for the arc (though what was intended to be canon is unknown. At the least the Daddy the Father and Caroline story was meant to be used). But he wanted the crew's journey to start at Chapter 100, hence the rushed pacing in the manga.
