• Deleted Scene: One included on the Season 5 DVD. Henry is sad because he couldn't use his quill to undo what Emma did to Cruella, but Emma tells him she can live with it and not to compromise his soul.
• Dyeing for Your Art: Isabella Blake-Thomas had to dye her hair red to match Rebecca Mader.
• Never Work with Children or Animals: An aversion. Barbara Hershey made the young Ava Acres feel at ease during their intense scenes together by repeatedly hugging her in between takes.
• Prop Recycling: Cora in her last two flashbacks wears a dress that she previously wore in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, with different embroidery.
• Reality Subtext: The young Regina names her doll Isabella and says she can be her sister. The young Zelena is played by actress Isabella Blake-Thomas. And Ava Acres, who plays the young Regina, has an older sister called Isabella.
• Separated-at-Birth Casting: Ava Acres and Isabella Blake-Thomas are aptly cast to play the younger versions of Lana Parrilla and Rebecca Mader.
• Throw It In!: Adam Horowitz spontaneously suggested Cora's tearful line to Zelena - "we never got to say hello" - to the episode's writing team.
