• Channel Hop: The first 2 seasons of the web series were released on a youtube channel called Thing X. The channel later merged with [adult swim] which now hosts the series both on their youtube channel and their website. The "Our Cinema Oscar Special" (the fifth Oscar special), was hosted on Tim Heidecker's youtube channel even though Adult Swim still airs the main series. The next Oscar special return to adult swim and the On Cinema channel though.
• The Danza: Many of the prominent characters in the show like Tim, Gregg, Mark and Joe share the same names as their actors.
• Fan Community Nicknames: There is a Gregg based subreddit that refer to themselves as Greggheads, a nod to the fact that Gregg tends to name the fanbase of various film franchises as [[name of franchise]]-heads such as Bondheads and Hobbitheads.
