  • Breakaway Pop Hit:
    • Moore and Cook recorded and released a version of their closing song "Goodbye-ee" and it got to #18 on the UK charts.
    • They also released "The L.S. Bumble Bee", the song performed by the Psychedelic Rock band featured in the "Pipesucker Report" sketch. It wasn't a hit, but it took on a life of its own when it started circulating among fans of The Beatles under the belief that it was actually by them under a pseudonym, even appearing on some Beatles bootleg albums (though Word of God from Moore was that it was intended more as a parody of Pet Sounds-era Beach Boys). There was a very slight Beatle connection to it—John Lennon had a small cameo in a separate part of the sketch (as a doorman at a nightclub located in a public restroom). The B-Side, called "The Bee Side", is a Dagenham Dialogue in which Pete and Dud discuss the dangers of drug use in their usual confused manner.
  • The Cast Showoff: Most of the episodes featured Dudley Moore playing a straight jazz piece with his trio.
  • Corpsing: Pete was expert at making Dud crack up mid-act. Dud had an even harder time when they were joined by Peter Sellers, with Cook and Sellers bouncing off each other.
Pete: (as Dudley uses a sandwich to hide his mouth) You enjoying that sandwich, there, are you?
  • The Danza: Pete and Dud played characters named...Pete and Dud.
  • Fake American: Occasionally done in sketches, like Moore as Jazz singer Bo Dudley and Cook as Idaho-based TV reporter Hiram J. Pipesucker.
  • Missing Episode: Of the 22 episodes, only 8 survive in their entirety.
  • Throw It In!: Common from Peter Cook, a skilled improviser, especially during the Dagenham Dialogues where he would do his best to get Dudley to crack up with ad libs.
