• Actor Allusion:
  • This isn't the first time Michael Chiklis has been a super-tough superhero. It's also the third time he played someone who worked for the police.
  • This isn't the first time Katie has been a comic-book loving sidekick in a superhero-ish universe.
  • After being startled by a home invader in the shower, Stephanie says she'll be taking baths from now on. That may not turn out so well.
• The Danza: Jimmy Bennett as Jim Junior "JJ" Powell.
  • For now, Josh Stewart as the Watcher's (Joshua) current alias.
• Dawson Casting: Averted with JJ's actor Jimmy Bennett, who's the same age as the character he's playing. Played straight with Kay Panabaker as Daphne, however, who's a 20 year old playing a high school sophomore.
• Hide Your Pregnancy: Autumn Reeser, who plays Katie, was pregnant while the show was on. This was hidden behind desks, lab coats, etc. until the second to last episode when it was written in.
• Reality Subtext: Autumn Reeser (Katie's actress) was pregnant in real life at the time, and her pregnancy was worked into Katie's character after Katie got knocked up by Josh.
• So My Kids Can Watch: Michael Chiklis mentions this as a reason for being on the show during an interview on Good Morning America (9/28/2010).
