• Actor-Shared Background: Petra Callanan is a Slovakian immigrant now living and working in Ireland, like her character Jenna.
• Cast the Runner-Up: Bobby Calloway submitted for Albert, but ended up in the smaller role of Anthony.
• Disabled Character, Disabled Actor: Averted with Jordan McGuinness as Albert, but played straight with Bobby Calloway as Anthony. The latter was so impressed with Jordan's performance, he assumed he was autistic on the first watch.
• Orphaned Reference: Jenna references meeting a man at the library. The scene in the bookshop was supposed to be in a library, but they weren't able to find one.
• Playing Against Type:
  • George Bracebridge often gets cast as villains or Jerkasses, but here plays the kindly bookshop owner.
  • Aidan O'Sullivan is normally rather shady characters, making it unusual for him to be Jenna's Reasonable Authority Figure superior.
• Typecasting: Jordan McGuinness played a similar shy, troubled character in Linenhall the same year.
• What Could Have Been: The scene with Gabrielle calling Jenna on her ableism was meant to take place in a physical meeting. The actor wasn't available on the day, so it was changed to a video call.
