• What Could Have Been: Serling appears to have vacillated over how to end "They're Tearing Down Tim Riley's Bar" as he considered having a Downer Ending where Lane simply stands in the rain watching the destruction of the bar. William Windom claims this was the ending in his script but was changed due to Executive Meddling, but it's more likely Serling himself changed it later as all surviving copies of his script have the happier ending and the director, Don Taylor, claimed it always ended that way.
