Trivia / Nicki Minaj

Go To

  • All-Star Cast: Not as much as some of her contemporaries, but Pink Friday featured Eminem, Kanye West, Drake, Rihanna and Lil Wayne, five of the biggest names in music along with Natasha Bedingfield, whilst Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded featured Drake, Nas, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Chris Brown, Young Jeezy and David Guetta.
  • Celebrity Voice Actor:
    • She voiced Sugilite in the Steven Universe episode "Coach Steven". This was apparently so expensive that Sugilite has never spoken since her debut. This was even lampshaded in the much later episode "Know Your Fusion", in which Sardonyx asks if they have to pay her for re-using her lines (they do).
    • She also voiced the teenage mammoth Steffie in Ice Age: Continental Drift.
  • Chart Displacement: She has three #1 hits, two of them being features and one as a solo artist. "Say So" with Doja Cat tracks, but the songs that are considered her signatures (namely "Super Bass" (#3), "Starships" (#5), "Anaconda" (#2), "Bang Bang" with Ariana Grande and Jessie J (#3)) aren't amongst them. The other number ones are "TROLLZ" with 6ix9ine (which only spent 4 weeks on the Hot 100) and "Super Freaky Girl," which while popular, is still too new to be considered a signature.
  • Fake Brit: Occasionally uses one, and even narrated the opening track of Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy using it. Additionally, her Martha persona, the mother of Roman (who does not speak with an accent), channels Eliza Doolittle during her chorus. During her 2012 Grammys performance, when not rapping, Roman spoke this way, too. Most people note that it's actually a good accent.
  • Fan Community Nickname: "Barbs."
  • What Could Have Been:
    • A Hype Williams-directed music video for "Roman in Moscow" was created, but has never been released.
    • "Anaconda" was originally meant to be a Missy Elliot song, but for reasons unknown Elliot decided to shelve the track, and instead let Minaj record her own version of the song.
