• Cowboy Be Bop At His Computer: News outlets mistook the spreadsheet app that Kelly Rowland half-heartedly used to "text" Nelly in the "Dilemma" music video for "Microsoft Excel"; the actual app used was the default Sheet application that came with the Nokia 9210.^note Specifically, the North American 9290 variant which used different GSM bands compared to the Eurasian release.
• Promoted Fanboy: Thanks to the success of songs like "Air Force Ones", which was about a brand of Nike shoes, Nike hired him to design his own line of shoes.
• Technology Marches On: The "Dilemma" music video, which was released back in 2002, featured Nelly and Kelly Rowland texting through a spreadsheet application on a Nokia 9210 Communicator running Symbian (which was descended from the earlier EPOC operating system by Psion).^note While most mainstream sources identified the app used as "Microsoft Excel", it is actually the default Sheet app on the 9210. The Sheet app can however read and write Excel .XLS files however. Nelly naively explained that it was used during the time despite eventually becoming outdated; spreadsheet apps on cellphones aren't uncommon, and it could be chalked up to the video's producers not being able to find a suitable app that could simulate Kelly's conversation with Nelly hence the half-hearted use of EPOC Sheet instead.
