- Creator Backlash: Fabian Nicieza is not proud of his work on the series.
- Exiled from Continuity: With Marvel's licensing agreement with the NFL having long since ended, SuperPro can no longer appear in comics.
- Money, Dear Boy: Fabian Nicieza claims that he only wrote NFL SuperPro in order to score free NFL tickets. What's worse, it became a "Shaggy Dog" Story for him, as he recounted:For all my hard work, Bob Budianskynote and a bunch of Marvel personnel got to go to the Super Bowl in Atlanta. I got midfield tix to a Jets game and they lost by 40 points to the Colts. I cried in all the beer I was able to buy using the royalty money from the books' sales. ;-)
- What Could Have Been: Robert Kirkman wanted to use SuperPro in an issue of the third volume of Marvel Team-Up, but due to the licensing agreement between Marvel and the NFL, he was unable to do so. As a result, Stilt-Man ends up namedropping a "Superpro" that he beat.
