• Creator Backlash: Averted, sort of. It was Common Knowledge in fan circles that Sandy Frank hated MST3K's mockery of him, in this episode in particular, so much that he pulled the rights for his licensed movies to block any video or syndication release of the episodes featuring them. In fact, Frank later admitted that he had no problem with the show mocking him - he was, in fact, quite happy that MST3K raised the profiles of these movies enough that he could increase the licensing fees beyond what Best Brains could pay for years.
• Creator Breakdown: According to the Amazing Colossal Episode Guide, this was particularly painful for the writers because of how hard the "movie" was to sit through. What made this one especially bad, though, was that the movie kept going even after the time code said the movie was supposed to end.
