• Conclusion in Another Medium: Issue 59 of the comics follows up on this episode by having Pinkie try finding out if there's any kind of pie Rainbow actually does like. Pinkie eventually learns An Aesop that it's okay for your friends not to like the same things you do.
• Spoiled by the Merchandise: Issue 59 of the official comics, which is a sequel to this episode, gave away this episode's ending on the very first page. The comic came out a week before the episode's set airdate—and comic previews (just as spoileriffic) came out three weeks before.
• What Could Have Been: In the leaked script it reveals that the ending originally continued after the hug, where Pinkie Pie asked Rainbow Dash what she thought of cupcakes, making her nervous. This may have also been intended as a Fandom Nod to a certain fanfic..., but most likely was meant to be a Here We Go Again! scenario.
  • A minor detail, but in the script, when the balloon holding the pie popped, it originally fell on Rainbow Dash. In the finished episode, it fell on Pinkie instead.
