- Ascended Fanon: Several fans joked about how everypony is suddenly becoming a princess. Well, now it's Spike's turn to become one.
- Creator Backlash: After seeing the fandom's negative reactions to the episode, Jim Miller admitted that the show went too far on Spike's treatment.
- Promoted Fanboy: Two of the frequent background ponies during the episode are the ponyifed avatars of Andy Price (the blue pony with a bit of stubble on his chin) and Katie Cook (the green pony with a blue bandana wearing glasses), who worked on the comic book series. This was Hasbro and DHX's way of thanking them for their hard work.
- Trolling Creator: Creative supervisor Brian Lenard took a jab at fans who've complained about the showrunners always portraying Spike as a Cosmic Plaything by posting a (fake) extended cut to the episode's ending where the ponies take back their forgiveness of Spike after he knocks down the statue a second time.
