Trivia / Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH

Go To

  • No Export for You: The book is still in publication but the only e-book release it has received was on the UK iTunes store.
  • Running the Asylum: After the death of her father, Jane Leslie Conly wrote two sequels for the original book. She was clearly a fan of the Don Bluth film because she incorporated movie elements that didn't exist in the original novel into the sequels, such as the cape Mrs. Frisby wears and Jeremy's somewhat more comedic personality. Other than that, though, the only real change was a POV-shift from the adult characters to the younger characters, although there is something of a rehabilitation of Jenner, both through flashback/backstory and his performing an offscreen Heroic Sacrifice; this is arguably for the good, as even his original characterization was as a Commander Contrarian, not an outright villain, and his villainous portrayal in the original film was thus a(nother) departure from the source material.
