- Approval of God:
- In May 2020, during a tele-meeting with the group Common Purpose, Jill Ruckelshaus mentioned she saw some of the show and pointed out that most of what happened in that show was true and that she loved Elizabeth Banks portrayal of her although she felt Banks was more beautiful than she was at the time.
- However Phyllis's daughter Anne and Gloria Steinem have noted disapproval of the series, but noting that the physical presentation of Phyllis and the acting were superb.
- Brenda Feigen had her trepidations about the show but watched and it loved it, even took the time to be interviewed by her portrayer Ari Graynor.
- California Doubling: The show was filmed entirely in and around Toronto, which stands in for various locales such as Washington, D.C., New York and the Schlafly's home town of Alton, Illinois.
- The Cast Showoff: Sarah Paulson gets to show off her singing voice in Houston singing "This Land Is Your Land".
- Fake American: Cate Blanchett is a dual Australian/American citizen but was raised in the former country and therefore has to put on an American accent to play Phyllis Schlafly. Fellow Aussie Rose Byrne plays Gloria Steinem. STOP ERA supporter and real life American anti-feminist activist Rosemary Thompson is also played by New Zealander Melanie Lynskey.
- Playing Against Type: Oddly Rose Byrne who once upon a time was known for her dramatic roles began transitioning into comedic roles for much of the last decade. Here she returns to a dramatic role.
- Those Two Actors: Mrs. America marks the third time that Cate Blanchett and Sarah Paulson have played close friends and allies onscreen, the other two times being in Carol (wherein their characters were also former lovers) and Ocean's 8.
